As we do every year, year 5 makes electronic candles to go inside our Jack-O-Lantern for Halloween.
This year, year 6 joined in the process. The students learned a little about what the components in their projects do and how they relate to one another. They first learned about how to use a breadboard and what it is for, and then they also learned the basics of soldering as they got some hands on experience soldering the resistors and the L.E.D’s onto their printed circuit boards (PCB’s).
They got excited when the batteries were installed and they actually worked. Great job!
