The postage stamp is one of the more crucial inventions of the Victorian era. Today, summer camp students visited the A.S. Popov Central Museum of Communications.
They discovered different ways people used to send messages to each other. They also learned a lot about postal fees and were very surprised to know that being a postman used to be a very dangerous job.
Our students were then able to send messages by pneumomail and designed their own postage stamp!
