Every year the last week of January at Insight International School is dedicated to one of the most significant pages in the history of St. Petersburg - the Blockade of Leningrad and the history of its heroic resistance. This year students from Years 4 and 5 visited the Museum of Defense and Blockade of Leningrad.
Diaries of citizens, bread cards, phosphorus badges and children's toys that were raised from the bottom of Lake Ladoga are on display. These silent witnesses of events told us about the daily struggle for life.
The students were impressed by the installations, interactive kiosks, unique footage from the cinema and photo chronicles, which eloquently told the children the story of courage of the people of the heroic city.
